REVIEWS OF: "SPIRIT OF THE WOLF" Written by Otis Ritch
By: Barbara Foster, Oklahoma author Date: Thursday, April 1, 2010
Otis Ritch has done it again with the second novel in his series. The SPIRIT OF THE WOLF brings Johnny Sky
Hawk and his new bride, Lena Sweetwater home to Oklahoma where they hope to settle and enjoy the peace and
quiet and to just be able to sit back and relax.
Johnny introduces Lena to the wolves who live near the home and he hopes she will become their friend as he
explains the life of the wolf and how men fear it for no reason.
It isn't long until the FBI is requesting Johnny's help in catching some cattle rustlers. Johnny can't refuse and
embarks on another adventure, joined by Lena as they leave their new home in Stigler to head towards the
panhandle to follow the leads.
This is a story that is full of adventure and yet Johnny continues his spiritual teachings to Lena which shows that
the paths we chose in life will be how our lives will be led.
Otis Ritch has reached into the depth of his soul to write a story of which he is knowledgeable and one in which the
reader can enjoy the storytelling as well as refresh our own spiritual values.

We are all blessed with a higher power to teach us and watch over us. Through the insightful writings of Otis Ritch
with his amazing talent and willingness to share his knowledge, we are given the opportunity to learn the power of
The Great Spirit. Spirit of the Wolf is an inspiring spiritual experience connecting nature's creatures with man
through the teachings of that Great Spirit. Johnny SkyHawk learned valuable lessons of wisdom from his
grandfather so that he might become the next great warrior; lessons to be passed down with each generation.
Following in the steps of his grandfather, Johnny uses his oneness with nature not only in helping local authorities
solve crimes but helping his people sustain their heritage. Each book continues the teachings of The Great Spirit
through the Native American family. I look forward to the next book in the continuing series of Johnny SkyHawk.

"Where Eagles Soar" & "Spirit Of The Wolf"
These books are both entertaining and insightful. Once you start, it's hard to stop as you follow the quest of
Johnny SkyHawk in his search for spiritual peace. The writer has provided adventure and suspense. Throughout
the book, the writer interjects early childhood lessons of good and evil that Johnny experienced. As you see how
these teachings help Johnny on his quest, it also makes one reflect on their beliefs and place in the world. I
enjoyed reading these books and would highly recommend them to others.

"Spirit Of The Wolf"
Once again we see Johnny's Grandfather in-depth wisdom as Johnny recalls his teachings. Johnny was able to
realize his potential as a Shaman from his fond memories of his Grandfather's guidance. Johnny comes to admire
the quickness of Lena's ability to grasp the teaching of his wisdom and guidance. He appreciates her more each
passing day as her partnership in his position as Shaman. But is it to be? This second book of this series is just as
exciting as the first in the lives of Johnny and Lena. Even though Johnny's calling is Shaman he also shows his
ability to help others through the law. I wonder, will he continue on a split path? Or will he have to make a choice?
One path leads to a peaceful existence and the other to dangerous intrigue. I can't wail until the next book to find
out more.
